I joined Newell Rubbermaid as a Senior Manager of Industrial Design in 2013. I am responsible for the Commercial business segment, which includes the Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Rubbermaid Healthcare brands. I lead a strategic design team in developing “big ideas” through in-depth insights work, envisioning innovation platforms, building stronger, more meaningful brands, jaw-dropping aesthetics, and creating ownable IP.
The Maximizer makes the job easier by providing more coverage, but with a lighter weight mop.
In the fall of 2014, I sponsored a project through Newell Rubbermaid that challenged five teams of Design for America students to solve for an important social issue: worker safety. I'm so proud of the thoughtful work that was done, the insights the students discovered, and the inspiring solutions that they presented.
My recent work has included incremental development that helped to strengthen a brand's position, visual brand language development for a start-up company, visions for new category expansions, as well as a large scale strategic project that aimed to reinvent a company by understanding people and forecasting the future.
